Role Description: Creating a cover of a traditional folk tune to be paired with an audio version of a Psalm.
Time Frame: The creation of one song (with the possibility of more depending on the project’s status).
Opportunity/Responsibilities:
- The Psalms have recently been translated into metered verse poetry for our unreached people group. We are producing an audio version of the Psalms with ethno-musical background recordings for all 150 Psalms to be shared on our website.
- Creation or recording of one song in .wav format.
- We will provide a list of potential tunes from which to choose as well as numerous examples to give an idea of what we’re asking for – choose to record one we have or select one of your own in that genre.
- This people group highly prizes music and poetry. The audio version of the Psalms paired with culturally engaging music has been particularly sought after and is one of the most visited areas on our website.
Recommended Experience:
- Willingness to work with our team to create culturally appropriate content for our target people group
- Composition, song writing, and/or arranging skills
- Piano, guitar proficiency. (Open to other instruments based on stylistic sensibilities of the target group)
- Proficiency in a DAW or access to recording facilities
- Language proficiency NOT required; we are only looking for instrumental music to which spoken word audio would be paired.
- We request raw recordings in .wav format; we will mix and edit with the Bible audio in post-production.
